The land of man.
Series produced in the workshop of ceramist Samir Müller, in Kahalé. Lebanon, 2011.
In addition to this, you will need to know more about it.
I had the chance to work with Samir Müller for many years. I very often went up to work in his workshop, using his enamels and especially his clay. A land that he produced himself, respecting the same technique as thousands of years ago. He mixed three types of soil (each with its properties of flux and elasticity), with hundreds of liters of water, using a homemade turbine. Twice a year, he "produced" his clay, in a sheet metal container, behind the caravanserai where his grandfather had set up his workshop. Three weeks after mixing, Samir was harvesting his land. Here is his work.
